In an interview published by UNIAN news agency on July 22, the famous Ukrainian writer Yuri Andrukhovych talked about his vision of the political situation in Ukraine. Also Andrukhovych expressed his attitude toward the southern and eastern parts of today's Ukraine:
"Politically, this is a different nation. I do not affect ethnic moments now, only political. So - politically it is a part of the Russian nation. I'm not saying that all the polls there are, but to the Ukrainian minority, that there is, it is easier to offer emigrate here, after all, so there is cornered, always pursued, can not implement a single project. In Donetsk, does not pass even such a thing as granting the university the name of their countryman, Vasyl Stus. There is a priori aggressively blocked Ukrainian movement. It is blocked there not due to some repression, but because it really does not want population. It is alien to Ukraine. Ukraine is a stranger to them, and not interesting, at least, indifferent "

Andrukhovych - one of the most published authors of Ukraine.His works have been translated into many languages, including Russian. In Russia he published such novels as "Recreation", "Moskoviada", "Twelve hoops" and others.
